A burglar who robbed more than 230 homes of almost $800,000 in goods has been jailedfor 10 years.
But the District Court in Brisbane has been told 95 per cent of VICTOR JOHN MCFARLANE'Srobbery spree wouldn't have come to light if he had not confessed to police.
Thirty-year-old MCFARLANE pleaded guilty to 337 burglary-related counts throughoutBrisbane between April 1998 and December 2001.
Judge MICHAEL SHANAHAN told the court police would've only been able to prove about18 of the offences if MCFARLANE hadn't confessed the rest.
MCFARLANE robbed from a total of 232 homes, plus open garages and unlocked cars.
MCFARLANE, who had worked in the hospitality industry, was motivated to commit theoffences by a massive amphetamine addiction which cost him $1,500 a day.
Judge MICHAEL SHANAHAN sentenced MCFARLANE to 10 years, but with a recommendation forearly parole after three-and-a-half years.
